Dale Marston, founder and managing member of Construction Risk Mitigation, LLC, has worked in the construction finance industry since 1997. After graduating from the University of Georgia in the spring of 1997 with a BBA in Real Estate, he accepted a job with NationsBank (now Bank of America) as a Construction Lender in Charlotte, NC with the Bank’s Real Estate Lending Group. At NationsBank, Dale cut his teeth with Commercial and Residential Construction Lending managing a loan portfolio of Charlotte area developers in excess of $60 million. In late 1998, Dale moved to Mobile, AL taking a position as a superintendent with Mitchell Homes, the residential development arm of The Mitchell Company. Dale managed the construction of houses in Canterbury Subdivision in Daphne, AL and at one point oversaw the construction of twenty (20) houses simultaneously.

In January of 2000, Dale accepted a job with Whitney National Bank as a loan analyst and underwriter, again construction lending being his focus. After roughly a year in the analyst position, an opening as a lender put him back as a portfolio manager. His loan book was not solely limited to construction, but more than two‐thirds of his time was spent underwriting, originating, managing, funding and tracking construction loans – anything from speculative residential houses to multi‐story condominiums along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.

In October of 2003, Dale moved to Daphne, AL and began working for Vision Bank as a Construction Lender in their Fairhope office. By the end of the first quarter 2006, Dale built a loan portfolio of over $65 million, roughly 75% of which was construction related. Baldwin County, AL was booming from 2003 – 2007, and he helped many builders and developers create product for the influx of people.

Construction Risk Mitigation, LLC was formed in the fall of 2007 as the beginning of this “Great Recession” we continue to find ourselves in was becoming more predictable. After having received all types of progress inspections from third‐party providers in his 10 year banking career, Dale Marston believed he could provide a superior product delivered in an expedient manner at a competitive price. After operating for 3+ years in an economic cycle which may be the worse since the Great Depression, CRM continues to have strong client growth and is providing roughly 20 ‐ 30 property inspections weekly.
